Biography

Lara Gillespie competes for the Ireland National Team on both the road and the track.  

Gillespie was crowned national champion in the road race in 2020 and 2023 and competes in several other disciplines such as Cyclo-cross.  

On the track, Gillespie competes across a range of events for the national team including the scratch, points, madison, omnium and team pursuit races.  She was part of the Ireland women’s team pursuit quartet that broke the national record twice in February 2023.

Gillespie picked up double gold at the U23 Track European Championships in 2023 in the Omnium and Points Race.
